Perseverance is the key to success.Perseverance is an attitude of persisting one single idea, discipline or ideal to achieve success.To achieve a goal in spite of facing numerous of difficulties, obstructions, failures or set backs.The Glass Castle, a memoir written by Jeannette Walls, tells the story of perseverance and the power siblings have to make it through the seemingly impossible in order to succeed. Even though Jeannettes parents love her and her siblings, their parenting skills arent up to par compared to the means of society. The Walls family is dysfunctional and unique in their own way. There were many times Jeannette was forced to grow up faster than a normal child would have to. She was made responsible for herself from the day she was born. Her experiences as a child taught her how the love of a sibling can prevail and how to persevere. In the story, Jeannette experiences more difficulties in her childhood than the normal American experiences in a lifetime. From the st ruggles with her parents, to the lack food and shelter, Jeanette’s still finds the power to push through and succeed on her own.The Walls’ parents appear to be reckless and unstable but they actually teach their children how to survive and ultimately thrive in life. Jeanette becomes a successful adult because they taught her to never give up, keep hope alive, to never look back.
